继助教Gus Poyet离开球队后，主教练Dennis Wise也将离开Elland Road。至此，本赛季Leeds一二号人物先后投其他球队而去。讽刺的是，Poyet的热刺，Wise的纽卡，现在都有多名人员曾经在利兹效力过。

早前已经传出纽卡正在和Leeds谈赔偿金的问题，而官网也含糊其辞地表示Wise会带领球队打周中的比赛。现在看来没那么乐观了，周中对Southend的比赛，恐怕Wise已经是纽卡的人了。

Wise将会在纽卡担任球队总监一职，对球员转会和青年球员训练将有一定影响力，但不会插手主帅Keegan日常一队的事务。YEP也指出，Wise似乎不是Keegan自己指定想要的人。

Leeds主席Ken Bates在球队电台上说道，Wise对离开球队表示歉意。而作为他的好友，Bates表示不会阻碍Wise的决定。

Wise离开后，首先产生的问题是周中对Southend的比赛要临时找人指挥了。第二，现任助教Bassett的去留也成很大疑问。当初他来替代Poyet时表示过，是Wise找他他才“出山”的。而且Wise走后，Bates也没立刻任命他为代理教练，这证明了Bassett和Wise关系要好，但未必和Bates要好。第三，刚好转会窗期只剩一两天，就算立刻找新教练也将无法引入他心仪的球员。倒是Wise买来的人，他要适应。我们知道上赛季降级，有一个原因就是Wise过分排斥前任主教练Blackwell使用过的人员。希望新教练不要这样做，不然会影响球队升冠计划。

无论你是挺Wise还是反对Wise的人，在这个尴尬时期走，他造成的打击是肯定的。Bates这次会带来什么样的人？还是继续走切尔西路线，找切尔西的人吗？

英国当地时间本周二（29日），纽卡斯尔联官方宣布，丹尼斯-怀斯（Dennis Wise）正式出任足球执行主管。

原利兹联主帅怀斯突然在本周一向俱乐部递交了辞呈，并就此投奔纽卡。与此同时，“喜鹊军团”还公布了另外两项管理层的人事任命：托尼-希门尼斯出任俱乐部副主席，而乔夫-维特雷担任新的技术协调员，两人将主要负责转会市场上的事务。

尽管有报道称基冈对于怀斯的加盟“深感震惊”，但主席克里斯-莫特强调，“凯文国王”对于所有新的人事任命都非常清楚。

与此同时，英国当地时间本周二下午，英甲利兹联官方宣布由前苏格兰国脚加里-麦卡利斯特（Gary McAllister）接替怀斯出任球队新任主教练，他的合同暂时签到本赛季结束。

现年43岁的麦卡利斯特深受利兹联球迷爱戴，1990年夏天，利兹联以100万英镑从莱切斯特城引进了这位技术出众的中场，麦卡利斯特是利兹联夺得1992年英格兰顶级联赛冠军的功臣，他在效力利兹联的6年时间里参加了300多场正式比赛，并且成为了球队的队长。

1996年，麦卡利斯特以300万英镑转投考文垂。2000年6月，时任利物浦主帅霍利尔免费引进了合同到期的麦卡利斯特，结果这位36岁的苏格兰中场帮助红军在2001年赢得了联赛杯、足总杯和欧洲联盟杯三项桂冠。

2002年4月，麦卡利斯特以球员兼教练身份重返考文垂，但是2003年12月，麦卡利斯特因为要照顾身患重病的妻子丹尼斯（后因为乳腺癌在2006年3月病故）而辞职。

2001年12月，麦卡利斯特被授予英帝国勋章（MBE），以表彰他对足球做出的杰出贡献，他一共代表苏格兰国家队参加了57场比赛，其中最著名的莫过于在96年欧洲杯小组赛对英格兰的比赛中，苏格兰队长麦卡利斯特在老温布利球场罚丢了一粒点球。
